Frequently Asked Questions
What is notice pay?
It is the compensation that the party who terminates the employment contract without a just cause and without complying with the notice periods is obliged to pay to the other party.
How is the notice period determined?
It is determined according to the working period in accordance with the Labor Law. A notice period of 2 weeks is applied for employments lasting less than 6 months, 4 weeks from 6 months to 1.5 years, 6 weeks from 1.5 years to 3 years, and 8 weeks for employments lasting more than 3 years.
What is the difference between gross and net notice pay?
The net amount is reached by making income tax and stamp duty deductions from the gross notice pay. No insurance premium deduction is made.
Why is income tax entered as an input?
Since the tax bracket (e.g. 15%, 20%, 27% etc.) in which the employee is located according to their cumulative tax base within that year may vary, the user must enter the correct rate.
Does this calculation give a definitive result?
